ABOUT PLASENCIA
Though the Plasencia 1865 line is relatively young in the world of cigars, the Plasencias have been in the cigar world for over 150 years. Beginning in 1865 in Vuelta Abajo, Cuba, in 1963 the Cuban revolution forced the family to flee to Mexico and then to Nicaragua. Political turmoil and the burning of their farms forced the move to Honduras. In 1990 the family went back to Nicaragua to revive their farms. The Plasencia family now resides in Nicaragua and have become the largest growers of tobacco in the world with factories and plantations in Honduras and Nicaragua.
The Plasencias grow and produce cigars and tobacco for over 30 different brands that you know and love, but it wasn’t until recently that they put out a line under their own name.
