ABOUT NICARAGUAN CIGARS
After the Cuban revolution, many Cuban cigar makers had to flee their home country to find refuge in America. Eventually, many of these families returned to making cigars, finding a home in Nicaragua where the soil represents the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba.
Nicaragua is home to some of the largest cigar brands in the world like Padron, My Father, Oliva, and Drew Estate. But it's not just large companies that call the country home. There is a thriving boutique cigar scene as well, with Steve Saka manufacturing cigars at factories like NACSA and Joya de Nicaragua, and James Brown's Oveja Negra factory (makers of Black Label Trading Company and Emilio Cigars).
