ABOUT PADRON
Padron Cigars was founded in 1964 by Jose Padron in Miami, Florida. Jose learned the business from family patriarch Damaso Padron, who grew world renowned tobaccos in the Pinar del Rip region of Cuba. When the Cuban revolution began and Castro took over their family farm, Jose fled to Spain and eventually ended up in Miami. Working for the government and then as a carpenter with a hammer that he was given by a friend, Jose saved until he could open Padron Cigars.
After learning that the Esteli region of Nicaragua had a microclimate and quality of soli similar to Pinar del Rio Cuba, he and his family set out to begin their operation. Though several obstacles have presented themselves Padron Cigars has persevered and continued to manufacture some of the worlds top-rated award winning premium handcrafted cigars. Whatever Padron cigar you choose, you’ll find a consistently excellent blend made with some of the finest tobaccos Nicaraguan produces.
