Set Time Aside for the Pausers
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust’s Year of the Pausers 2026 continues Steve Saka’s tradition of honoring real people who matter to the brand. This year’s cabinet celebrates Michelle and Tom Pauser, a well‑known Alaskan couple in the cigar community. Because their tastes differ, the box carries two distinct blends in the same 6 x 48 format with a pigtail, seven of each, crafted at the factories tied to their inspirations. Joya de Nicaragua produces Michelle’s cigar, while NACSA handles Tom’s.
Michelle’s blend is shaped by her love of Sin Compromiso, built with a Grade 1 Mexican San Andrés Negro Cultivo Tonto wrapper, an Ecuadorian Habano Viso Rosado binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania Seedleaf. It lands at medium plus with cocoa, espresso, loam, and a sweet, creamy finish. Tom’s cigar reflects his preference for heavier Dunbarton profiles like Mi Querida Triqui Traca and Mi Querida Black. It features the new Capa Camaleón wrapper, a hybrid of Habano 2000 and Connecticut Broadleaf, over a Mexican San Andrés Negro binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The result is full bodied with burnt caramel, savory saltiness, and dark chocolate.
Limited to 2,700 boxes, Year of the Pausers is a personal tribute to two people who embody the spirit of the DTT family.
