Rooted in Tradition. Refined by Age.
Pete Johnson has been one of the most active blenders in the cigar world over the last few years, turning out hit after hit from the My Father factory in Nicaragua. His portfolio is stacked with 90+ rated blends, and his cigars have become everyday favorites for a lot of smokers. So of course, the next move would be to launch something new. It’s not the usual path once a brand is already established, but Pete’s never really followed the usual path anyway.
Inspired by the ultra‑popular, nearly impossible‑to-find Cohiba Behike, L’Atelier uses robust Nicaraguan fillers wrapped in a rich Ecuadorian Habano leaf. The tobaccos are well‑aged, giving the cigar a medium‑bodied profile even though the blend reads fuller on paper. Once lit, it puts out thick, chewy smoke with notes of cedar, spice, and earth. The finish hangs around just long enough to satisfy without overstaying its welcome. No need to chase down a Behike when L’Atelier is right here and ready.
