Ozgener and the Garcias Unite
Maracanã from OZ Family Cigars is Tim Ozgener’s nod to the global game, named after Rio’s famed Estádio do Maracanã where Pelé marked both his first and his 1,000th goals. Made at My Father Cigars Honduras, the cigar uses a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper with a Honduran and Nicaraguan double binder, plus fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua, including tobacco from the Talanga Valley and Garcia family farms. It is a regular production release distributed by Crowned Heads and brings Ozgener back to the Brazilian influence that shaped some of his earlier work.
Here, Ozgener and the Garcia family operate like a tight, confident side, turning out a cigar built for depth, balance, and a steady, reliable burn. The profile is crafted to stay flavorful from the first spark through the final stretch, offering a composed performance with notes of leather, spice, cocoa, and a sweet finish.
