Romeo y Julieta's 1875 line of cigars has a long and storied history. As one of the most popular blends on the market today, the cigars are all flavorful enough to keep seasoned aficionados satisfied, yet so smooth even novices can easily enjoy. The brand has recently expanded to include blends crafted by the Plasencia family at their renowned Nicaraguan facilities. The first release was 1875 Nicaragua, which was met with much critical acclaim and commercial success. Now, we're proud to present its follow-up—1875 Connecticut Nicaragua. Like its predecessor, the blend is a Nicarguan Puro, but provides a smoother, mellower experience overall.
The gorgeously golden Connecticut-seed, Shade-grown wrappers that grace these cigars come with a twist, as they're the first to come from Nicaragua versus the USA or Ecuador. This means a more complex flavor profile (creamy coffee, milk chocolate, dried fruit, floral hints) with a sustained smoothness throughout, before ending in balanced fashion with a crisp, clean finish. Rafael Nodal, Head of Product Development for Altadis USA, worked with the Plasencia family for close to two years creating this captivating cigar: “Getting to work with the Plasencia family on this cigar which uses a Connecticut-seed wrapper grown in Nicaragua, is for me an honor,” said Rafael. "Having the opportunity to take the Romeo y Julieta consumer on a journey of discovering new flavors and new experiences, is a real privilege. It’s not a Connecticut cigar, nor is it a Nicaragua cigar. It is the first Connecticut-Nicaragua cigar, and that makes for a big difference."
