The epitome of Cuban-esque.

Ranked #3 Cigar of 2025 by Cigar Aficionado - '96' Rated

Cigar Aficionado had this to say: "It has enormous flavor. Sweet in spots (you might think of s’mores around a campfire) and tannic in others (heavy on the oak)."

Tatuaje Black Cigars has quickly become one of the most popular brands available. Launched by Pete Johnson, the buyer for the Grand Havana Room, everything bearing the Tatuaje name seems to skyrocket to the top of the ratings. Tatuaje Black started as a blend produced only for the creator of Tatuaje cigars, Pete Johnson. In 2008, a limited run was produced and sold to the public with amazing results. Boxes sold fast & furiously and this line has now garnered a cult-like following.

Sporting an oily Nicaraguan Criollo wrapper, the aesthetics are all there, of course. It's more than fair to call Tatuaje Black a true beauty to behold. While these boutiques are certainly small-batch & generally boast thinner ring-gauges, it's a big blend in every other way. Black is a strong smoke, never letting up from the get-go. Full-strength in body but well-balanced, the flavor profile of each super-premium is in perfect parallel with the smoke's considerable POP.
