ABOUT DREW ESTATE The Drew Estate story has humble roots. Two frat brothers in NYC opened a 16-square-foot kiosk in the World Trade Center to start selling cigars in 1996. Two years later, Jonathan Drew moved to Nicaragua and began sleeping above a factory. Marvin Samel stayed in New York to hold down the fort. Flash forward a few decades, and Drew Estate is one of the premier cigar manufacturers in the world. From their first successes with brands like La Vieje Habana to their successful invention of premium infused cigars, the DE boys have done it all. Today, Drew Estate is best known as a manufacturer of a huge range of blends. But it's their traditional Nicaraguan cigars that have won the most awards. Drew's breakout hit was the original Liga Privada No. 9. A cigar blended exclusively for their former president, Steve Saka, this Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped powerhouse is still a staple in the industry. The No. 9 spawned a successor, the Liga Privada T52, and a modified version of the blend with the Undercrown Maduro. Undercrown has gone on to a brand family of its own, with a mellow extension in the Undercrown Shade, and the sweet-and-spicy Undercrown Sun Grown.
